Rockaway, N.J. (September 30, 2022) – Prevention Is Key (PIK), a north Jersey-based non-profit substance misuse prevention agency, is pleased to announce the agenda for an October Recovery Recognition Breakfast focused on the theme of Opioid Awareness. The breakfast is scheduled to be held on October 10th beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Rockaway Center for Addiction Recovery Education and Success (CARES).
The Rockaway CARES, located at 25 W. Main Street, celebrated 8-years of providing recovery support services on September 23, 2022, and has served over 20,400 individuals in that time. The center hosts its Recovery Recognition Breakfast on the second Monday of each month. Each breakfast program focuses on a theme, with the October breakfast featuring speakers and special guests related to the topic of Opioid Awareness.
The October breakfast is sponsored by Pinelands Recovery Center of Medford. The agenda includes an overview of programs and services offered by Prevention is Key as well as a PIK Program Highlight, Peer Spotlight, Perspective from Law Enforcement, and a personal Story of Recovery. Presenters will be joined by special guests from Pacira Biosciences and Narcotics Anonymous. Pacira will be sharing information about opioid alternatives for surgical procedures, while representatives from Narcotics Anonymous will provide information and resources for individuals in recovery as well as those seeking recovery support services.
Breakfast will be served at 9:30 a.m. with the program beginning promptly at 10 a.m. All are welcome to join. There is no cost to attend.
