Prevention Reach 2023

By: Megan Souter, Preventionist

Our Prevention Team provided five different programs equating to almost 1,000hours of prevention program services in 2023! These hours do not include additional efforts with community coalitions – such as Community Coalition for a Safe and Healthy Morris, and Jefferson Township Youth Coalition.

Direct Service Programs are evidence based programs brought to the community through schools, local community centers, senior centers, and many more. In these programs Preventionist explore coping mechanisms, conflict resolution, substance education and resource connections. In 2023…

10 school districts received LifeSkills

7 school districts received WNBI

5 school districts received FootPrints for Life

5 local community centers received WISE

3 local family establishments

hosted these prevention programs. Our Prevention team entered over 50 Morris County classrooms – ultimately improving knowledge associated with underage drinking and prescription drugs.

90% of Footprints participants agree they know how to tell someone how they’re feeling.

86% of WNBI 2.0 participants can think of three refusal skills to use when being pressured to drink or use drugs.

84% of students who completed the Life skills program agree it is a good idea to think about the consequences before making a decision.

We send a big thank you to these partners for welcoming the conversations and education to their community. Without these partners our team would not have been able to reach 60 groups, translating to over 1,200 individuals ranging in age from 5 to 95!
