What are your primary duties? I oversee volunteers that help in our center. I work with the volunteers to schedule appropriate shifts. I make sure that the volunteers have tasks and duties to perform when in the center. I also teach and run our volunteer training sessions for all new potential volunteers.

Another part of my job is outreach for our Morris County Recovery Center. I work to create professional working relationships with other organizations in the area to better help serve our participants. It can be anything from meeting other professionals at a mutual event. To email/call local facilities/organizations in the hope of creating a working relationship between us! Trying to get people into and utilizing our Recovery Center!

Where did you go to school and what did you study? I went to Sussex County Community College for a few semesters. I am currently 15 credits away from my associate’s.

How many years have you worked in the field? It will be one full year in August 2023!

Why do you work in the field?  I am in Recovery myself. May 16th, 2020, I started my journey of Recovery. I am passionate about the Recovery movement, and ESPECIALLY the “CARES” unique way of looking at and promoting Recovery to the community. I am trying to make a difference in the way Substance Use is looked at by our society through reducing the stigma surrounding drugs and helping those still actively struggling. We believe in harm reduction and meeting people EXACTLY where they are at. We are looking to empower people to self-define their own recovery in a way that works for THEM.
