Title: Associate Peer Coordinator
What are your primary duties? As the Associate Peer Coordinator, I act as the liaison between the Peer Recovery Specialists, volunteers, and other members of the staff. I oversee various administrative tasks within the office as well as maintain the upkeep of the workplace. I aim to facilitate a smooth communication system between all the component members of the CARES community.
Where did you go to school and what did you study? I received my BA in Political Science with a minor in Public Policy from Ramapo College of New Jersey in 2021.
How many years have you worked in the field? This is my first position held in this field.
Why do you work in the field? Members of my family have made amazing strides in their journeys through long-term recovery. This success has inspired me to become an active source of support for all individuals at varying steps of their recovery. I believe that we should treat all people with respect and empathy regardless of their background. Positive change is not possible if someone is not provided appropriate resources to promote said change.
