Title: Preventionist I & CADC Intern, Fundraising Coordinator
Department: Prevention, IDRC, Fundraising
What are your primary duties? I facilitate the 12 Hour Intoxicated Driver Resource Center (IDRC) program in Morris and Warren Counties. I also facilitate numerous evidence based, age appropriate prevention programs (including Strengthening Families, Boys Council, and WISE). I Plan and implement fundraising events for Prevention Is Key.
Where did you go to school and what did you study? I attended CADC and prevention coursework and training at The New Jersey Prevention Network. I attended the CPRS training at CARES in 2017 and have been an instructor of the Credential since then.
How long have you been in the field? I have been in the clinical & prevention fields for substance use disorders for 8 years, and special events planning and production for 20 years.
Why do you work in the field? I got into these fields because I am passionate about educating my community the proven benefits of preventing substance use/misuse, and treating those that suffer from substance use disorders. I also get to show that recovery is fun by holding a wide range of special event fundraisers in our community (Dragon Boat Races, Yacht Rides, Dinners, Concerts, Walks, and Golf Tournaments so far…)
