Starting in November, one of our programs called 7 Habits of Highly Effective teens began in a Morris Plains school. This program involved the seventh graders participation in various activities and discussions. Each week built upon the previous, with students reflecting on their current habits and learning new skills to empower and implement the changes to build a future they look forward to. From silly lessons such as juggling balloons to represent priorities- to sharing activities that help “sharpen the saw” which means take care of their body, mind, spirit, and heart- each student connected with each other as well as with themselves. As our habits are an important factor in our behavior and health, teaching students from a young age to take control of their lives and choices can impact the rest of their lives and we hope to continue to make a positive impact on the students in each program.
